Chip Chuckers of Riverside, Chapter 59 of the
California Carvers Guild

We meet weekly at the Janet Goeske Center, 5257 Sierra Street in Riverside Ca 92504 on Tuesday mornings from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm.

The Chip Chuckers of Riverside, California, originated in 1998, when five guys decided it was time to start a woodcarving club. Within a year it grew to 60 members. Through the years the numbers fluctuate and presently we have 24 active members.

Join Us

The club is open to all levels of carvers, and there are many carvers willing to assist anyone interested in learning to carve. We have projects  to start learning with, such as a cowboy boot and often supply a beginner with a knife if needed. The carvers share ideas, suggestions, to improve carving, patterns, and often wood to work on. Several members bring wood to donate so materials to work with are easily available. Ideas for projects are found in Wood carving magazines, pictures, books, and ideas passed among the carvers. We have a library containing many ideas. We accept donations to the library and often get items from former members that no longer carve.

Other Interest:

The club also has several members that enjoy the art of Pyrography

(Wood burning) where they design and engrave beautiful pictures onto wood. If this is something you may me interested in tring please come check us out.
