The club is open to all levels of carvers and wood burners, and there are many members willing to assist anyone interested in learning to carver or burn. We have projects to start learning with, such as a cowboy boot and can provide a beginner with a knife if needed. The members share ideas, suggestions to improve skills, patterns, and often we have donated wood to work with on a project. Ideas for projects are often found in Wood Carving magazines, pictures, books, and ideas passed among the members, We have a  small library available to the members with books on carving techniques, patterns and projects.

We have some members that enjoy the art of wood burning. Pyrography, literally meaning “writing with fire” is the art of decorating wood, leather, or other materials with burn marks. The Artists achieve this by applying heated objects, typically specialized modern pens with interchangeable nibs, to scorch varuing tones, textures, and lines into a canvas.
